100 Million Stars

The 100 Million Stars initiative aims to transform the 100 million unemployed youth in the Arab World into 100 million shining stars. Talented youth from the Arab World, Africa, and South Asia (AWASAR) will find innovative approaches to the challenge, thus mitigating youth radicalization in all these regions.

With the projected "youth bulge" demographic transition in the Arab World, the region is expected to experience in the next ten years the 100 million youth unemployment challenge.

26% of the youth in the region is unemployed, the World's highest. If not addressed, such a challenge will become a source of social instability.

 Application Process

Application Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must have good proficiency in English.
  • Age: 18-30 years old
  • Born and raised in either the Middle East, Africa, South Asia, or Germany.
  • Be able to commit full-time (i.e. up to four hours daily) for the duration of the online Incubator Lab, the Impact lab in December 2021 (if selected), and also for several online activities between the two Labs.

Selection Criteria

Applicants will be assessed through their:

  • Strong motivation to join the 100 Million Stars Labs (incubation and impact)
  • Willingness to contribute to the Labs with initiatives and ideas to solve the unemployment challenge in the regions
  • Availability to attend both Labs and the webinars (a letter of commitment will be signed)
  • Readiness to be a team player and join a network of young ambassadors after the Labs
  • Openness to other cultures
