H.H. Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashed, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirate, and Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, once said “in this age of rapid change, those who lag behind become irrelevant – in a heartbeat. Their choice is simple: INNOVATE OR BECOME IRRELEVANT”. That is why at Expo 2020, UAEU will be launching an ambitious project that could become one of the most important educational endeavors of the 21st century.

This project is the University of the Future, a spin-off of UAEU, in partnership with prominent international institutions which will be located in District 2020 in Dubai as a legacy of Expo.

The University of the Future will offer a new model of higher education which will focus on the challenges of modern society by educating and enabling young people in an interdisciplinary environment that empowers them to become problem solvers, entrepreneurs – and ultimately – ambassadors of change. Each and every one of us are unique and talented. This new university will help you to uncover your purpose and to develop a vision and a plan to achieve it. It aims to transform the 100 million unemployment challenge into 100 million shining stars. The innovative curriculum for this unique institution is currently being developed by our very own faculty. A pilot test will be carried out during Expo 2020 through the pathfinders program where 30 students from different Arab and African universities will be selected and will leverage the ecosystem created by Expo 2020 as a testbed.

The University of the Future responds to the needs of the fourth industrial revolution and introduces a new breed of pathfinders where learning is a lifelong mindset and not a vocational based goal.
